Spain: Socialists begin campaign for immigrant vote

The PSOE leadership today is introducing a crusade to encourage 1.7 meg immigrants to run and balloting at incoming topical elections of May 22, finished complementary agreements subscribed since the start of 2008 with a dozen countries. 

The crusade will inform the Secretary for International Policy and electoral NGO spokesman of the PSOE, Elena Valenciano, and Social Movements and councilor of the contestant in the municipality of Madrid, Pedro Zerolo. Socialists understand that, in principle, the immigrant balloting haw be fireman to them.

If we consider the terminal polls [*], with the contestant center-right Popular Party leading by 18,8 points against the socialists, despite the past “low-profiled” opposition, I look they are going to ask the immigrants for voting them.

[*] With the volatile status nowadays, we’ll wager if they are actually true or not, when the elections come…
